Islamabad: Amidst the ongoing political turmoil in Pakistan, the atmosphere has been heated by the rumour of the assassination of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday. As soon as this news spread, the Islamabad Police Department has come on high alert. A police spokesman said that Section 144 has already been imposed in Islamabad and public meetings have been banned.
Security has been beefed up at the gala, the luxurious home of Imran Khan located in Islamabad. Police said security forces have deployed special security at Bani Gala. However, the police has not been given information about Khan’s whereabouts. As per the order of the District Magistrate, curfew has been imposed in the area.
Islamabad Police says that they will provide full security to Imran Khan and expect help from his team as well. On the other hand, Imran Khan’s nephew Hassan Niazi says that if anything happens to the former Prime Minister, it will be considered an attack on Pakistan. We will respond to it in an aggressive manner that those behind it will regret. Imran Khan has been advised many times to use a bulletproof jacket and vehicle during the rally.
Fawad Chaudhry, who was a minister in the Imran government, had told that Khan is coming to Islamabad on Sunday. Chaudhary had also said in April that the country’s security agency had told about the conspiracy to kill Imran Khan. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Faisal Wawda also made similar claims that a conspiracy was hatched to assassinate the Pakistani PM for refusing to “sell the country”.
Former minister and PTI member Fawad Chaudhry has also expressed suspicion of Imran Khan’s murder many times.
A few days ago, Imran Khan had expressed the possibility of his murder. Khan had said that his life is in danger. There are some people inside and outside Pakistan who want to kill him. “I know all those people. I have recorded a video and kept it in a safe place. If I am killed, this video will reveal the names of all these people,” said Khan. Imran Khan has said many times in the past that his life is in danger. Before being ousted from power, he had said that he had strong evidence that his life was in danger.
